Imaginarium Designs Design Team Audition

Hello and Welcome to my blog.

Imaginarium is a Chipboard Company formed in 2010. This company is  the collaborate effort of a Mother and Son who both love designing and working in the Papercraft Industry.  To-day, I wish to share with you my love for chipboard and the various treatments that you can apply to chipboard to obtain a wide range of artistic results.  Grab a coffee and take your time to look closely at how chipboard can truly embellish your photo's and projects.  This is my Design Team Call Audition.

Inking raw chipboard

Here is a card, which has had Clearsnap Chestnut ink applied directly onto the raw chipboard.
Take a closer look at the fine lightweight detail of this bicycle laser cut design.
The raw chipboard that has been inked.

Teasing of chipboard

Here is a fine example of teasing the edges to give fullness to a chipboard piece.

Taking a closer look at this teasing technique.  You will see additional layers of texture and the addition of paint and glitter presents a plump fullness to the ornate card header.

Seed Beads and Paints

This layout showcases the ability to layer chipboard pieces without adding to much bulk.  I have painted and adhered seed beads to the pieces to give the chipboard a organic texture.

A teased chipboard embellishment, gesso'd, painted and glittered.

Chipboard embellishments can be added to any off the page project.  This gift bag celebrates an event which can later have the embellished chipboard removed and saved as a keepsake.  Applying a layer of gesso, provides a white softer look to any raw chipboard piece.

Inked raw chipboard.

Look how quick an application of ink can be applied to chipboard and present a  rustic look to any masculine layout.

Stamped chipboard

One of my favorites is to stamp large pieces of chipboard to create matching elements with different embellishment pieces.  The chipboard in this presentation has been painted and inked.  A script stamp has been stamped onto the large pieces of chipboard to complement the nautical themed layout.

Mixed media chipboard embellishment frame.

Chipboard can be embellished with almost any mix'd medium.  Here the "Let your Dreams" frame has glitter, paper and embellishment flakes adhered to the chipboard frame.

 Embossing Treatment.

The ATC card below, demonstrates how embossing powder can stick to the chipboard and give the chipboard a textural presentation to any project.

Stamped - Gesso'd Chipboard

This card showcases this basket chipboard in a eye pleasing floral arrangement.  The eye travels from the floral blooms down onto the chipboard basket, which has been painted with gesso and stamped with a branch.  This chipboard basket can be removed from the card and kept with mementos in a keepsake box.

Canvas- Chipboard title and embellishments-paint treatment

This mix'd media canvas with multiple layers of medium's showcases a chipboard titles which really adds interest to any project.  The painted chipboard grasses add layers of texture to this wall canvas.

This concludes my tour of the many ways chipboard can be treated to get a mix'd media presentation.

Scrap Around the World with BoBunny

Hello and welcome to my blog.  To-day I wish to share some of my favorite photo's lakeside.  The calmness of the lake in the photo as my mom enjoys reading a good book, brings back memories of the gentle breeze across the lake.

Inspiration is the key to a successful project.
Look to a wonderful website called Scrap Around the World.

The rhinestone butterfly and clothing picture spoke volumes to complement my photo pictures.  This is one of my favorite Scrap Around the World Mood Boards.  Be sure to visit Scrap Around the World for loads of inspiration from designer's around the world. Become a member of their community.

Once you have a Mood Board the next best tool to a successful layout is the sketch.  BoBunny has a great October sketch that inspired my layout with a simple flip of the sketch.  Be sure to visit BoBunny for monthly sketches and become a member of their community for inspirational layouts which feature quality paper collections.

I flipped the sketch and here is another view of my Layout.

Tombow Round 1 Design Team Call

Hello and welcome to my blog.  To-day  I would like to share 3 projects that I created as part of my  Tombow Round 1 Design Team call audition.  Grab your favorite beverage and join me as we take a close look at my projects which showcase how flexible and secure Tombow adhesive performs as an adhesive of choice.

Up first is a D.I.Y. project.

Since we are enjoying the Beautiful Fall colors of Autumn  I decided to create a cute table center piece for my table.
Here I have 3 sized pumpkins that truly showcase how well Tombow Xtreme Adhesive holds a 3D project.
These 3 pumpkins will decorate my home during the fall season.

Here are the instructions for this fun D.I.Y. project.  Gather your supplies

1.  Die cut various circle sizes.  Each pumpkin requires 8 circles.

2.  Fold each circle and trim the bottom of the folded circle (pumpkin) to allow for the pumpkin  to sit steady and trim the top of the folded circles to give a more oval presentation appearance once its assembled.
3.  Ink all the edge of the pumpkin circles and start assembling the circles using  Tombow Xtreme Adhesive tape runner.
Important application tip: When using the Xtreme tape runner be sure to end the gluing motion with a side swipe.  Video's are available on the Tombow site to demonstrate this action.

4.  Add a tulle bow in the center of the pumpkin using Tombow Foam Tabs.

5.  Add some beads to wire, curl the wire as you add the beads and secure to the centre of the pumpkin by sliding down the center hole of the pumpkin pressing against the Tombow foam Tabs.
Great presentation for the fall.

Sparkle and Shine  Christmas Card

My next project is a layered card showcasing DCWV pattern papers, Tombow Liquid Mono adhesive and Tombow 3D Foam Tabs.

This pattern paper collection called Heirloom Christmas Pack is a complete pack whereby you have all papers and embellishments to create a card or layout completely.  I did add some ribbons, as I do enjoy the fullness ribbon adds to a card.
Here you can see the sentiment is from the label page within the DCWV collection pack.  How quick a little bit of Tombow Mono Liquid Adhesive helps secure this card in no time at all.

Adhere Tombow foam tabs to the christmas trees to give a 3D dimensional look and this card is ready to mail.

The final project I wish to share is a layout featuring BoBunny papers and Tombow.

Relax

This layout captures the joy of those late summer days lakeside.

One of the best features of the Tombow Mono Liquid Glue is the versatility of this glue.  You get a 2 in 1 glue.  (a) The glue is a permanent wet glue that adheres to paper immediately and (b) a short term re-positionable glue if you let the glue air dry for 5 minutes which allows for moving your paper pieces around your project to get that perfect presentation.
Here you can see the letter "A"  is wet and the letter "E and  X" have dried to a gloss texture.
I am going to let all of my letters dry to the gloss texture and then  use them on my layout.

Next up, is my other favorite tape runner-- the Mono Dots....

Here you can see the tape runner on my mat that I am using on my layout.  Love this runner for the ease of use and forgiveness on repositioning....
