Coast to Coast Events

Hello I wish to share a great event with my readers today.  Check it out.

USA artist's make note of this opportunity.

Organizer, Audrey DeJong has a team of staff who share the love of our fine art industry and I had the opportunity to experience the dedication that  Audrey gives to this community when she hosts
the Coast to Coast Events.  (C2Cevents.com ).

Coast to Coast had a show in April 2014 held at the Holiday Inn in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
I had the pleasure to represent Powertex products to the attendees of the show.

Brigette Thompson and her husband are the Canadian Distributors of Powertex Canada, based out of Sudbury, Ontario Canada.

I had the joy of introducing artist to Powertex and even had returning artist from Buffalo NewYork, USA attend the Toronto April 2014 show for the second time.

Nancy Donaldson and I  presented two demonstration to showcase the product to visitors who attended the Coast to Coast show.

Powertex is a liquid medium that is a fabric hardener that is highly versatile that makes most porous surfaces hard and weather resistant. This amazing product gives form and structure to cloth, paper, wood, gauze, cardboard and more.

I demonstrated how simple a 100% cotton T-shirt piece, once dipped into Bronze Powertex, can have the appearance of  a leather bound scrapbook.  My photo above is the result of manipulating the T-shirt while wet.  Thoroughly drying the sample overnight and adding copper highlights with paint the next day.

Those fortunate enough to travel, there are 2 more shows scheduled for 2014.

One in London Ontario Canada.  This location is about an 1.5 hour drive from the Port Huron, Michigan, USA border.    Check out the C2C website and register to attend this
August 6-9, 2014 show now.

Nancy will be an instructor at the London, Ontario, Canada show. (Jewelry)

The other show is in Leduc, Alberta, Canada.  Scheduled for September 24-28, 2014.

Join the Powertex community by visiting the Canadian blog.
Plan to attend
Coast to Coast

There are many creative instructional artists at each of the shows scheduled later this year.  Be sure to check out the website and plan a trip to visit the area as well as attend the Coast to Coast show.
Enjoy.

Ann Butler Designs with Clearsnap Colorbox Ink

Hello.  Here to share a card featuring Ann Butler Designs Unity Stamps and Clearsnap Crafters Ink.

Step # 1  Gather your  supplies and start stamping strips of colored cardstock using the 2"  Leaves all over and 2"  Stripes, Dots and Hearts.  I used the Limelight green on red cardstock which changed the actual look of the stamped color of the ink.

Step # 2  Cut 1" squares and design a pattern that you like on a spare piece of paper.  Once you like your design, use Tombow Stamp runner to apply a layer of adhesive over your actual mat.  Position your squares to the mat and adhere mat to your embossed card base.

Step # 3  Add a black embossed sentiment onto a die cut label and adhere to your card front.
Step # 4  Embellish with rhinestones and ribbon.

Ann Butler Unity Stamps

Hello
To-day I would like to share a card I have made using the Ann Butler Designs Unity Stamp Co. quilting stamps.

There are many sites on the web where you can find many different quilting patterns.  I found a great tutorial at Nancy Riley's blog.

Collecting my supplies.
Getting started layering all my elements after they have been stamped and cut to size.  These 7 different patterns of Ann Butler Designs Quilting stamps are 3/8"  x 3" strips.
You can see that I used the Tombow Stamp runner adhesive to coat my 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" base square, placed my center joy diamond square into the middle of the base mat and started layering all the tiny strips to get the quilted look.
Added a border punched mat onto the card base with some May Arts Ribbons.

Lots of preparation work with the stamping and cutting the strips to size, although the quilted mat comes together quickly once you get started.

Mother's Day

Hello, here to share with you a classic black and white card for
Mother's Day.

There is a great video by Gina K Designs that showcases the two embossing folder technique you see here in this card.  I choose two Sizzix folders and sanded my embossing lightly.

You can see how well the Core'dinations Core Essentials, Snowflake and the Graphic 45 Signature Series, Photogenic complement each other with their mat finish. Both Cardstocks are my favorite.
Add a sheer ribbon and some crystals by Zva Creative and your card is a classic that will make mom proud.

Easter Bunnies

Hello,  I have a cute little shaped card that would be great to enclose with a gift this Easter.
Sometimes it's a refreshing change to make a shaped card.  Here I used the Core'dinations Core Essential's Pastel Collection of Cardstock. Embossed and sanded the card to have the inner core show through.
I embellished my card with a die cut from Spellbinders, May Arts Ribbon and ScrapFX chipboard to give the card some happiness.  The Core'dinations Pastel collection colors co-ordinate so well with each other.
